An attorney friend had a brilliant suggestion.
He told me to publish a "Law Review" and to focus on cases that may
have an impact on veterans. He suggested to keep it simple with
information that a non-lawyer can understand and use.
As I said, Brilliant!
He's modest enough that he doesn't want credit, he's seriously
dedicated to the cause of helping veterans and fame and fortune isn't
his goal...doing the right thing for vets is his only target.
I hope you'll enjoy The Veterans Law Review as much as I'm enjoying putting it together for you.

S. 1407, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2010
Larry and I and our VAWatchdog friends (many who
must remain in stealth mode) are dedicated to doing all we can to help
our brothers and sisters. We know that if you follow a few simple rules
of engagement, your experience with your VA will be a more positive one.
The letter below tells the story.
October 2009
Jim,
I've been intending to write a note of thanks to you for quite
some time, now is as good a time as ever. In 2006 I filed a claim
for symptoms related to PTSD, as well as other illnesses and injuries I
have that is presumptively related to exposure to Agent Orange. (Type
II Diabetes and other complications linked to the disease). As you can
imagine, I encountered the usual denials/delays common for the VA
at the time.
After
bumping heads on more than one occasion with one of the most useless
VSO's, I "went above his head" and I sought assistance from his
immediate supervisor. To his credit, the Asst. Supervisor seemed to
have considerably more knowledge than the assigned VSO relating
to VA claims and appeals process. He also expressed a willingness to go
beyond the normal routine.
Most importantly he provided me with the website for VAWatchdog dot Org. He said I would find a wealth of helpful
information relating to claims, appeals, etc. at the site. His
description of the web site was an understatement to say the least.
Using information obtained from reading your step by step
guide on how to file VA claims and appeals, I developed a serious
DIY attitude regarding my then pending PTSD claim.
With the DIY attitude I picked up from you, I was awarded a 50%
Service Connected rating for PTSD and a 10 % S/C rating for tinnitus in
2008. In 2009 I have also applied for a higher rating for PTSD in
conjunction with a request to be rated at 100% based on
Individual Unemployability. I'm joining other veterans in thanking you and Larry
Scott for all of the work the two of you do on behalf of all
veterans.
Thanks again.

Tech Notes for the geek minded...
This site is designed using Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome web
browsers. I try to check compatibility with Microsoft Internet Explorer
and I find that it works well.
This site doesn't work very well with WEBTV (MS TV) or AOL...or so I'm told.
Every computer is different. I can't help with your computer issues except the info on the Google It page.
I'm trying to keep it simple so you can use it easily but technology is advancing and you may have to catch up. Read the Google It page to see how to get a compatible browser.
